As you may know, facebook is converting most of their pages to the new timeline format. The Eamon page will be forced to convert as well on March 30, 2012.
One of the features of the new timeline format is a "cover" image. That's the "big" image at the top of the page when it loads. Unfortunately, none of the dozens or so graphic files that I have of Eamon really fits into this slot appropriately. The required dimensions are a width of 850 px and a height of 315 px. Cover images tend to get pixelated, so it’s best to load a high-res image. Don't have many high-res images in Eamon!
So, I'm putting this out as a contest. Design an Eamon appropriate facebook cover that will fit the required dimensions. The winner will have the honor of having their cover chosen to represent the Eamon facebook group and, of course, bragging rights!
The deadline to email your entries to me at eamonag@gmail.com is March 29, 2012.
Thanks and good luck!

Have you had any entries yet? The date is so soon for anything I would be coming up with!
Nothing yet. I can extend the date if there is interest; it was chosen merely because it was the day before it goes live on facebook.
I'm working on a few things, haven't exactly decided which would be best and I wanted to browse Eamon history a bit to see what sort of things stood out. Is there anything in specific you would like to see?
Completely up to you. The Eamon Dragon itself is kindof cool, but you might also take a look at the artwork produced for Jason Scott's "Get Lamp" documentary (which actually contains the Eamon CD).
Check out the picture at http://getlamp.com/order/artwork.jpg
I started watching that documentary a month or so back and loved it! Decided to stop a good way into it to acquire it and watch on an actual television with Frank. Thanks for the picture link, we haven't been back at that yet, although we have been meaning to just about every other night!
ARRRRRG! That's very similar to the idea I was envisioning! Something to the effect of the possibilities are as endless as one's imagination! I was hoping to have some improvements of what was around, (as in the new EDX dragon) and something original. That image was where I was going for original, at least I'm laughing about it though, and oh well. I feel like I've got years of studying to cram in to catch up!
Matthew: Have you seen the "BBS" documentary also by Jason Scott? Well it's actually a series of 6 (I think) documentaries about the days before the Internet. Very interesting stuff in those. He is definitely a master of his craft. Apparently he made another one on the arcade scene too.
